Tenafly Man Charged with Unlawfully Possessing a Sawed-Off Shotgun

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Matthew Panetta, 28, of Tenafly, on weapon possession charges. 

During an investigation by detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Special Investigations Squad on January 21, 2022, Panetta was identified as unlawfully possessing a sawed-off shotgun. 

Prosecutor Musella said that later that same day, detectives arrested Panetta without incident at his place of employment. A subsequent search warrant was executed at Panetta's residence in Tenafly.

According to Prosecutor Musella, Panetta was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of a prohibited weapon (sawed-off shotgun).
