Teen Girl Robbed in Newark's Ironbound Section

A robbery in the city's Ironbound Section has police searching for the suspect responsible.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in connection with a robbery at in the area of Walnut and Lang Streets in mid August.

According to police, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a 15-year old female victim was robbed of her cell phone by a black male suspect who verbally threatened to take out a gun if she did not comply.

While police are actively searching for the suspect, they are seeking the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets.

Police said the investigation is active and ongoing.
