Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of an 18-year-old e-bike rider in Somerset County Saturday afternoon.
The collision occurred near Route 27 and South Middlebush Road in Franklin Township shortly before 2 p.m.
According to preliminary reports, the 18-year-old male was riding an e-bike when he was struck by a vehicle.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, and the roadway was closed as authorities conducted their investigation.
The victim suffered fatal injuries in the collision. His identity has not yet been released.
Authorities have not immediately released additional information regarding the driver or the circumstances that led to the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
