A 19-year-old Asbury Park resident has been arrested and charged in connection with a deadly shooting that took place earlier this year, according to information released by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

Authorities say Jordan I. Glisson has been charged with first-degree murder, as well as two second-degree weapons offenses—unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

The shooting occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 8, 2025, when Asbury Park Police officers were called to the 1100 block of Atlantic Avenue after receiving reports of gunfire.

When they arrived, they found 19-year-old Ah’kim Esdaile suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Esdaile was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Following an investigation led by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau in collaboration with Asbury Park Police, Glisson was identified as the primary suspect.

He was arrested on Monday, July 14, with the help of the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Task Force and local police.

Glisson is currently being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution while he awaits his first court appearance.
