Teen Charged with Criminal Sexual Contact for Incidents at Kearny High School

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez has announced that members of the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit have charged a 17-year-old male student on sex offense charges involving a female student at Kearny High School.

According to Prosecutor Suarez, both incidents occurred inside the school during the current school year. 

Authorities were first notified of the offenses on Tuesday, January 18, and the Special Victims Unit immediately opened its investigation.

Prosecutor Suarez said that the 17-year-old has been charged with two counts of Criminal Sexual Contact. 

He was taken into custody at the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Jersey City on Monday, January 31, and released to a legal guardian pending his first court appearance.
