Teen Bicyclist Critical After Striking Vehicle on Road in Clifton

Police in Clifton are investigating the cause of a crash that severely injured a teen bicyclist over the weekend. 

Police say on Saturday, June 24, at approximately 8:30 PM, a 13-year-old Clifton resident (Aqel) was riding his bicycle on Fifth Avenue.

Clifton Police said when he approached the intersection of W. 2nd Street, the cyclist struck a vehicle in transit, causing the boy to be thrown from his bicycle.

According to police, the driver of the car stopped immediately to render aid, and emergency responders arrived a short time later.

The cyclist was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital where he remains in critical condition. 

The incident is currently under investigation by the Clifton Police Traffic Division.
