Target Infant Toy Recalled Due to Choking Hazard

By: Jada K. Davis

On Wednesday, April 14th, Battat recalls one of their infant teethers due to possible choking hazards.

The B. toys Firefly Infant Teethers pose a possible safety hazard due to the plastic, detachable wings on the body of the teether.

According to the CPSC:

“This recall involves B. toys Light-Up Firefly Teether Glowy Chews – Firefly Frank, plastic infant teethers.  The colorful teethers shaped like a Firefly are blue, green, and red and light up when shaken.”

“About  61,000 of these infant teethers were sold at Target stores nationwide from July 2019 through February 2021 for about between $6 and $10.”

Battat has received 14 incident reports regarding the teethers.  A majority of the reports made involved the wings detaching or even pieces of the wing breaking off. One report mentioned a child choking on a broken piece of the wing.

To report any incidents, contact Battat at 844-963-2479 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. You can also email Battat.
