Authorities in Winslow Township are investigating a tragic incident in which a person drowned while swimming in Penbryn Lake on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Winslow Township Police Department, officers responded to the area near New Freedom Road shortly after 3:30 p.m. following reports that an individual had entered the water and failed to resurface.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and initiated a search of the lake.
A body was later recovered, but the victim has not yet been publicly identified.
Police have not released further information regarding the circumstances surrounding the drowning, and the investigation remains ongoing.
