Police in Hightstown made a swift arrest of a suspect who walked into a 7-Eleven in the city overnight and reportedly robbed the establishment at gunpoint.
According to preliminary reports, officers were called to the 7-Eleven located on Dutch Neck Road and US-130 to investigate a report of an armed robbery in progress that occurred just before 3:45 a.m.
Fast responding unit arrived at the scene and flooded the area with police officers after they were told that a man entered the store armed with a gun and demanded proceeds according to reports.
The suspect was described as a 5'5" black male with a medium build, grey beard, and wore a red and black windbreaker.
Police canvassed the area and found the suspect a short distance away reports said.
There were no physical injuries reported.
The incident remains under investiagtion.
