Emergency responder in Newark evacuated a building in the city after occupants inside located suspicious powder inside on Monday morning.
According to Newark Police officials, firefighters and hazmat crews were called to the New Community Corporation Family Service Bureau located at 374 South Orange Avenue at around 11:35 a.m.
Upon arrival at the scene, crews immediately evacuated more than two dozen people from the building then began their investigation into what the substance was.
According to Newark Police officials, after testing the powder, they deemed that it was laundry detergent.
There were no injuries reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
