Union County authorities are investigating the cause of death for a person dropped off at a hospital in Summit during the overnight hours.
According to preliminary reports, Overlook Hospital officials contacted Summit Police after an unidentified person arrived in a vehicle carrying an unconscious and unresponsive victim into the emergency department at around 12:40 a.m.
The victim was pronounced dead by doctors a short time after being dropped off according to reports.
The investigation is in its early stages into what caused the death of the person.
