Public Safety officials in Newark are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying three suspects wanted in connection with a violent carjacking and assault that targeted an Uber Eats delivery driver in the city.

According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., the incident occurred at approximately 11:06 p.m. on June 14 as the victim was stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of South Orange Avenue and South Munn Avenue while making an Uber Eats delivery on a black Zenen moped.
Police said one of the suspects approached the victim and gestured as though he had a weapon tucked into his waistband before pushing him off the moped.
As the victim fell to the ground, the two other suspects joined in the assault.
During the attack, the first suspect fled eastbound on the victim's black Zenen moped bearing New Jersey registration 6AWN1.
Authorities said Suspect #1 was wearing a gray sweater and dark-colored sweatpants.
Suspect #2 was wearing a dark gray sweater and dark-colored sweatpants, while Suspect #3 was dressed entirely in black clothing.
