Suspects Wanted for Violent Newark Ironbound Robbery

Authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects wanted in connection with a violent early morning robbery that left a bystander stabbed.

 

According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr., the incident occurred around 3:27 a.m. on March 22, 2026, in the 100 block of Walnut Street.

 

Police said two suspects, armed with knives, approached a man and a woman and attempted to rob them by going through their pockets. 

During the confrontation, a male bystander intervened to help the victims but was stabbed by one of the suspects.

 

Authorities said the suspects fled eastbound on Walnut Street immediately after the attack.

 

The individuals are described as Hispanic males wearing all black clothing and ski masks. One suspect is believed to be approximately 6 feet tall with facial hair, while the second is described as about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build.

 

The condition of the stabbing victim has not been publicly released.
