Suspects Wanted for Robbing Downtown Newark Bike Shop

Newark

Newark Police officials are on the search for three suspects who robbed a bike shop in the city’s downtown earlier today.

According to preliminary reports, the robbery happened at approximately 4:25 p.m. at the Newark Community Bike Shop located on Park Place.

Police say three armed suspects entered the business wearing ski-masks and took an unknown amount of cash before running from the scene.

Authorities have not confirmed if the suspects were armed with weapons during the robbery or if the incident was a strong-armed robbery.

According to the company’s website, The Newark Community Cycling Center (or NewarkCCC for short), is a division of the Newark Community Sports Center, a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to bringing unique sporting opportunities to the youth of Newark.

The NewarkCCC is focussed on using the bicycle as our tool of choice for bringing people together, finding common ground, and engaging in an active life style, all while choosing a clean green form of transportation the website said.

There were no serious injuries reported and the suspects remain at-large.
