Suspects Wanted for Newark Armed Robberies

Police in Newark announced that warrants have been issued for several suspects wanted for robberies in the year 2020. 

Newark Police said the following: 

Ms. Sameerah Ward, 42, of East Orange, is wanted for an armed robbery on October 11, 2020, at the Tryp Hotel, 24 E. Park Street in Newark. Ward, along with two other suspects, robbed a guest of the hotel of his personal property at gunpoint. She faces robbery, conspiracy, possession of an unlawful weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Mr. Gaelson Senesca, 24, of Newark, is wanted for an armed robbery in the 400 block of 18th Avenue on October 12, 2020. A driver and passenger, who had pulled over to seek directions, were robbed by three suspects who demanded their cell phones and wallets at gunpoint. Police identified Senesca as a suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of robbery, conspiracy, possession of an unlawful weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Mr. Jamal Adams, 20, of Newark, is wanted for an armed robbery of a victim who met with him to sell a cell phone on February 2, 2020. Adams and a female approached the victim’s vehicle at the meeting location, at Hedden Terrace near West Runyon Street, and stole the cell phone at knifepoint. He faces charges of robbery, conspiracy, possession of an unlawful weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Mr. Deandre L. Speight, 21, of Newark, is being sought by police for a June 20th, 2020, armed robbery. A food delivery man was robbed of his cash and personal property while in the 100 block of South 8th Street. Speight is wanted on a charge of receiving stolen property after he was identified using the victim’s credit cards immediately after the robbery.

Mr. Tyrone Jackson, 47, of Newark, is wanted for a robbery on August 10, 2020. A victim’s gold chain was snatched while in the area of Nichols and Pulaski streets. Jackson was identified as a suspect in this incident and he is wanted on charges of robbery, aggravated assault and conspiracy.

Mr. Shakur I. Harris, 22, of East Orange, is being sought for a carjacking that occurred on August 23, 2020, in the 200 block of South 19th Street. Police identified Harris as the suspect who approached a victim and demanded his car keys at gunpoint. Harris is wanted on a charge of carjacking.

Mr. Alshyneek Norman, 24, of Irvington, faces charges of robbery, conspiracy, and three counts each of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in connection with a robbery that occurred on December 29, 2020. Three women were robbed at gunpoint of cash and personal property while in the 500 block of South 19th Street.
