Suspects Sought for Several Violent Assaults, Robberies in Newark's Ironbound Section

Newark

Authorities in Newark are searching for suspects responsible for several robberies and violent assaults that occurred in the city's Ironbound section.

In one of the incidents, Thursday night, police responded to reports of an armed robbery in progress on Napoleon Street.

Upon arrival, police were told by the victim that suspects occupying a Silver 2004 Honda Civic exited the vehicle and stole personal items at gunpoint.

The same suspects are also wanted for beating several non-English speaking residents in the East Ward who are afraid to report to Newark Police.

Authorities believe that the vehicle has reported license plate numbers "W54-3925".

The vehicle is possibly wanted for plowing into a pedestrian in the vicinity of 325 New York Avenue.

In this incident, the male victim suffered a severe head injury and waited over a half-hour for EMS to arrive for assistance. Police and Firefighters were on the scene to assist.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office confirmed on Saturday that the victim's injuries did not result in a fatality as of 3 p.m.

Police have not reported arrests in any of the Ironbound robberies.
