Suspects Sought for Armed Robbery of Newark Ironbound Diner Customer

Police officials in Newark request the public’s assistance in identifying suspects wanted in a robbery that occurred on Sunday, July 21.

Police say shortly before 5 a.m., a man was followed out of a diner in the area of Wilson and Ferry streets by two people, a man and a male or female. Fearing he was in danger, the victim ran.

According to police, one of the suspects, reported to be a man or woman, caught up with him, pointed a knife at him and demanded his belongings.

The suspects took the man’s wallet, containing $1,500.00, his cell phone and other personal property police said.

The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male or female, 5’1” to 5’3” tall with a medium complexion and short black hair.

This suspect was wearing a dark blue or black top and dark blue jeans.

The male suspect is described as white, 5’7” tall, with a broad build and dark beard. Police say he was wearing a dark top, cut-off cargo shorts and boots.

While police are actively searching for these suspects, we seek the public’s help in quickly identifying them so that they can be removed from Newark streets.
