Suspects Sought for Alleged Theft of Clothing from Washing Machine at Newark Laundromat

Police in Newark are on the search for two suspects who they say are wanted for a theft from the Showcase Laundromat that occurred on February 11th.

According to a statement released by Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose, on the day of the incident, at 2:43 p.m., the victim told police that he left his wash unattended at the Showcase, located at 377 Chancellor Avenue when he returned to find his items missing.

Police said surveillance images of the incident had two suspects removing the clothing then leaving the laundromat.

Director Ambrose said the first suspect is a female who wore blue jeans and a red jacket while they are also looking for a male suspect who has dreadlocks and wore a grey hoodie and green pants.

Police said the suspects entered a red vehicle and drove away from the scene.

The police investigation is continuing Director Ambrose said.
