Authorities in Secaucus and the New Jersey State Police are actively investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Saturday morning at a Turnpike service area gas station, where suspects fired a shot before fleeing the scene.

According to preliminary reports, officers were dispatched to the Alexander Hamilton Service Area shortly before 2 a.m. after receiving reports of shots fired during an alleged robbery.
When police arrived, they found a robbery victim who reported being held at gunpoint by three male suspects, believed to be either White or Hispanic.
The suspects demanded the victim’s personal belongings, and at some point during the incident, one of the assailants fired a shot at the victim. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported.
The trio reportedly fled the scene heading southbound on the New Jersey Turnpike.
Shell casings were found at the scene by responding units, and the entrance to the service area was temporarily closed as investigators collected evidence.
The New Jersey State Police have joined the investigation, and the suspects remain at large.
Authorities are working to obtain surveillance footage and further witness statements to aid in their search.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Secaucus Police or the New Jersey State Police.
