Suspects Arrested after Separate Incidents to Elude Police

Separate instances to elude authorities in Newark has two people in custody this morning.

Police attempting to pull over a vehicle that registered stolen had the driver ignore police flashing emergency lights and sirens at around 2:30 a.m.

Police followed the vehicle to Springfield Ave. near South 12th Street when two suspects reportedly bailed from the vehicle. Cops in a foot pursuit with the suspects (described as young black males) caught up with and arrested one of suspects a short distance away. The second suspect remained at-large as of 2:25 a.m.

A short time later in the area of 15th Ave. and 6th Street, police following a vehicle that refused to stop for several traffic violations had police follow the vehicle that sped down 15th Ave. with two of it's tires sheered down to the rims.

Police were finally able to catch up with the green Dodge Caravan on 16th Ave. and South 8th Street where police arrested one person.

There were no injuries reported in either incident.
