Police officials in Newark are seeking assistance from the public in identifying a male suspect involved in the theft of a 2022 Ford U-Haul truck on August 2, 2023.
According to piloce, a U-Haul employee told them the incident occurred at the facility located in the 800 block of Broadway.
The truck was dropped off at 1 a.m. and stolen at 5 a.m. The suspect used a silver object to retrieve the truck's keys from the business's return box before escaping in the vehicle, heading north on Broadway towards Verona Avenue.
Police say the suspect is described as a light-skinned male with long blonde/brown hair, and he has several tattoos on his neck, arms, and legs.
Police said the U-Haul truck is registered in Alabama with the plate number AL793335.
