Suspect Wanted for Stealing Multiple Packages in Newark’s Central Ward

Newark Police are reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a package theft incident that occurred on Sunday, October 8.

The incident took place in the 200 block of Muhammad Ali Avenue, and the victim reported the theft of several delivered packages with a total estimated value exceeding $215.

The stolen items included various adult and children's clothing and household items.

Detectives working on the case managed to obtain video footage that captured the male suspect in the act of stealing the packages.

The suspect is described as having a dark complexion and was seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, white Air Force sneakers, a green beanie cap, and carrying a gray backpack.

Director Fragé is urging anyone with information about the suspect's identity to come forward and assist in the investigation.
