Authorities in Newark request the public’s help identifying the male suspect who stole a laptop from an unlocked vehicle on September 22.

According to Newark officials, Police officers responded to a theft from an automobile incident that occurred at a residence in the 400 block of South 9th Street.
The victim, not realizing that his Dodge Durango SUV was unlocked, parked it in the driveway at approximately 11:28 a.m., Newark officials stated.
Newark Police said when he returned several hours later at 7:25 p.m., his HP Z Book laptop and its casing were missing.

On surveillance video, the suspect entered the victim’s vehicle at approximately 6:20 p.m. and exited carrying a black backpack, Newark officials say.
Newark authorities stated the suspect, who walked northbound on South 9th Street, wore a black hoodie with “Aspen” written in blue on the back, black pants, and black shoes.
