Suspect Wanted for Stealing Carjacked Vehicle in Newark

Newark Police officials seek the public’s help identifying a male suspect wanted in connection with receiving stolen property regarding a vehicle that was carjacked on Monday, January 2. 

According to police, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Police responded to the 100 block of Littleton Avenue on a carjacking call.

Newark Police said a male driver and his two passengers, a male and a female, exited a white 2018 Dodge Charger with PA registration LNM-1558 and were approached by a gray sedan occupied by three Black males, all armed with handguns.

Police say the first suspect ordered the victim to drop his car keys and remove his fanny pack.

The second suspect ordered the female victim to drop her purse off before taking it from the ground. The third suspect entered the victim’s vehicle with the keys and fled, heading westbound on 13th Avenue.

Police said the other two suspects re-entered the gray sedan and fled, heading south on Littleton Avenue.

The first suspect is described as approximately 18-19 years old, wearing a black sweater with gray jeans.

According to police, the second suspect is described as wearing all-black clothing.

And the third suspect is also described as wearing all-black.

The pictured suspect was observed on a surveillance camera using the victim’s vehicle at a gas station in Waterbury, Connecticut. He is described as having a tattoo on his left hand.
