A male suspect wanted for a theft of a cell phone in Newark's downtown has police seeking the public's assistance identifying him.
According to police, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a black male suspect snatched a cell phone from a female victim’s hand at 24 Maiden Lane then sprinted northbound on Washington Street.
Police said the suspect wore a black hooded sweat suit -with a red Gucci symbol on the front and a red stripe on top- and white Nike sneakers.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
