Suspect Wanted for Brutal Attack on Woman Inside Newark West Ward Eatery

Newark Police officials are calling for public assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in a violent assault that occurred last Thursday, December 28.

The incident took place at around 7:09 a.m. inside a business establishment located in the 800 block of South Orange Avenue.AdPolice said the female victim, engaged in conversation with an employee about her food order, was suddenly approached and verbally assaulted by the suspect.

The confrontation quickly escalated when the suspect, who was unknown to the victim, began to physically attack her.

The assailant punched the victim multiple times, causing her to fall to the floor. Despite her defenseless state, the suspect continued the assault, punching and kicking her while she was down.

The victim, suffering from injuries inflicted during the attack, later sought medical treatment at a local hospital.AdNewark detectives investigating the case have issued a description of the suspect in hopes of a swift identification.

He is described as a Black male, sporting short black bushy hair, with an unshaven appearance.

At the time of the attack, he was wearing a gray Nike Tech hooded sweatshirt, dark blue jeans, and white sneakers.

The Newark Police Department urges anyone with information regarding the identity of this suspect to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

They emphasize that all tips received through this line are kept confidential and informants may be eligible for a reward.
