Suspect Wanted for $11K Facebook Marketplace Robbery in Newark

Newark Police request the public’s help with identifying a suspect who was with another suspect when they robbed a man of several gold chains worth $11,000 on November 21, 2021. 

According to officials, Newark Police responded to a call about a robbery that occurred at approximately 2 p.m. after the victim and suspect left Mr. Gold Jewelry Store, located at 831 Broad Street.

Police said the victim and the suspect were at the jewelry store to check the authenticity of the gold chains that the victim had advertised on Facebook Market Place.

When they left the store, police say an unknown male approached the victim and held a hard metal object to his stomach area.

He and the suspect pictured below took the victim’s chains and fled in a White BMW 328i with a Pennsylvania registration (LNA8400).

The vehicle and plate frequent the area of Park Avenue and E 178th Bronx, N.Y.

The suspect, a Hispanic male, is described as 25 to 30- years old, 5’8” to 5’10” inches tall and weighs 170 to 185 pounds.

Police said he has long black hair and a light complexion.
