Authorities are pursuing a suspect involved in an armed robbery that unfolded near a park in Newark's North Ward on Wednesday evening.
Shortly before 7 p.m., a "Be on the Lookout" alert for a suspect described as a black male wearing a yellow shirt and black pants.
The individual was armed with a firearm when he approached the victim and forcibly took an undisclosed amount of cash.
After the robbery, the assailant fled the scene on foot, heading westbound along Park Avenue.
Fortunately, there were no reports of serious injuries resulting from the incident.
The Essex County Sheriff's Department continues to investigate this case diligently as they work to apprehend the suspect responsible for this armed robbery.
