Suspect Sought After Reported Carjacking in New Brunswick

Police in New Brunswick are searching for a suspect following a reported carjacking late Wednesday night.

According to preliminary information, officers were dispatched just before 10 p.m. to the 70s block of Bayard Street after receiving multiple calls about a possible carjacking in progress.

 

When police arrived, they were met by a victim who reported that a suspect implied they had a weapon and demanded their white Mercedes-Benz GLC.  

The suspect then fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.

 

Authorities later located the unoccupied Mercedes in the area of Woodbridge Avenue and Main Street less than 30 minutes after the incident was reported. 

It was not immediately clear if the vehicle had been damaged.

 

As of Thursday morning, the suspect remains at large. Officials have not released a description of the individual, and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident have not yet been officially confirmed.
