Authorities in Passaic County are searching for a suspect who pointed a gun at a law enforcement officer before fleeing a traffic stop early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred just before 2:20 a.m. on Lakeview Avenue, when a Passaic County Sheriff’s Officer conducted a motor vehicle stop.
During the encounter, the unidentified suspect allegedly brandished a firearm at the officer and then sped off from the scene.
The suspect fled in what is believed to be a black BMW bearing New Jersey license plate “Z95-VND.” Law enforcement agencies issued a regional alert to be on the lookout for the vehicle.
No injuries were reported in the incident, and as of now, it remains unclear whether the suspect has been apprehended.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact local law enforcement.
