Authorities in Newark request the public’s help locating Eric Smith, 51, of Irvington, who is wanted for questioning in connection with a strong-arm robbery on December 11, 2022.
According to Newark Police, officers responded to a call about the robbery that occurred downtown at approximately 1:40 p.m. at Broad Street and Lincoln Park.
Police say the victim was walking southbound on Broad Street when three Hispanic males exited a tan-colored sedan at Lincoln Park and attacked him.
The suspects punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall to the ground, where he surrendered a fanny pack with his wallet and personal belongings.
Officials say one of the men grabbed the bag, and all of them got back in the sedan and fled southbound on Broad Street.
Smith is 5'7" inches tall and 210 pounds with brown eyes, black hair, and a black complexion.
