Authorities announced the arrest of Brian Evans, 30, of Newark, for falsely reporting a shooting yesterday.
According to police, at approximately 1:30 a.m., police responded to University Hospital on a call of a person shot.
Evans allegedly reported injury from a shooting that he said occurred on South 20th Street and Springfield Avenue following a quarrel.
Detectives investigating the shooting developed evidence that indicated Evans being the suspect from a Wilkes-Barre, PA police-involved shooting according to police.
Police arrested Evans and charged him with Filing a false report to police.
Police is holding Evans for Pennsylvania authorities.
