Suspect Fires Shot at Victim in Newark Armed Robbery

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose is seeking the public’s help in providing information regarding an early-morning robbery that occurred today.

Poice say at approximately 4:30 a.m., a motorist was forced to stop near the intersection of Court and Nevada Street by a group of males traveling in a van.

When the victim fled from the vehicle, police say one of the van's occupants fired a gun.

The suspects then removed the victim's wallet and other personal items before fleeing in the van, which was last observed heading south on Washington Street.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
