Surveillance Captures Suspect Stealing Package from Newark Front Steps

Newark Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect accused of stealing a package just minutes after it was delivered to a city residence, according to information released by Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr.

Authorities said the theft occurred on June 27 in the 400 block of South 11th Street.

 

According to investigators, the victim received a delivery notification at approximately 12:15 p.m. confirming the package had been left on the front steps of the home. 

Just seven minutes later, at approximately 12:22 p.m., surveillance video captured the suspect taking the package before walking southbound on South 11th Street.
