Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a cool but promising start to the day, with temperatures sitting at 60 degrees early Tuesday morning.

Despite the initial chill, residents can look forward to a classic early June rebound, as warm sunshine is expected to push highs into the low 80s.

According to the National Weather Service, today's forecast calls for sunny skies with a high near 82 degrees.

Winds will remain light, shifting west at 5 to 7 mph during the afternoon, providing a pleasant breeze as the day warms up.

As the sun sets, conditions will remain calm and clear, with overnight lows dipping back down to around 60 degrees.

Forecasters say this warming trend will continue through the week, with Thursday shaping up to be the most ideal day for outdoor plans.

Until then, enjoy the sunshine, New Jersey!
