After a beautiful weekend that gave moms across New Jersey perfect weather to celebrate, Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to a cool but comfortable 59 degrees this Monday morning.

As of 4:30 a.m., skies over downtown Newark are mostly clear, setting the stage for a sunny and pleasant day.
According to the National Weather Service, residents can expect sunny conditions with a high near 75 degrees. Winds will shift from east to south by the afternoon, adding to the mild feel.
But make sure to enjoy the sunshine while it lasts — changes are coming tonight. Clouds will begin to roll in after sunset, with showers expected to arrive around 2:30 a.m., ushering in a rainy Tuesday.
Tonight’s low will hover around 60 degrees.
Until then, New Jerseyans are encouraged to get outside and enjoy the final hours of fair weather.
