We are waking up to dry conditions across Newark and the North Jersey region on this Thursday morning.

As we close out the workweek, we hope you had a great night's sleep.
It's currently 69 degrees in downtown Newark at 4:30 a.m., and if you're heading out to the bus stop or starting your morning commute, you'll be greeted by comfortable conditions.
High pressure will remain in control today, bringing plenty of sunshine and pleasant humidity.
It will be a beautiful day to get outside, especially during your lunch break.
According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly sunny with a high near 85 degrees. Light and variable winds will become southerly at 5 to 10 mph during the afternoon.
Tonight, clouds will increase with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m.
Showers and thunderstorms become more likely between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., with a chance of lingering storms after 5 a.m.
Overnight lows will be around 66 degrees. South winds of 5 to 10 mph will shift west after midnight, with gusts up to 20 mph possible.
Rain chances are 70 percent, with most areas expected to receive between one-tenth and one-quarter inch of rain, though locally higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.
