Good morning and Happy Monday, New Jersey!

As we begin a fresh week across Newark and the North Jersey region, early risers are waking up to a calm and breezy morning with a refreshing 66 degrees reported around 4:30 a.m. at Bergen Street and 16th Avenue in Newark.

According to the National Weather Service, the day is shaping up beautifully for most of the region.

While areas like Morristown and Sussex County are experiencing some patchy fog this morning, the skies are expected to clear, giving way to mostly sunny conditions throughout the day.

Today: Mostly sunny skies, with a high near 79°F. Winds will remain light, becoming south at 5 to 7 mph by the afternoon.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with a low around 62°F.

Whether you’re commuting to work, heading to school, or just enjoying a walk through your neighborhood, today’s weather will make it feel like summer is giving us a gentle wave goodbye.

Light layers are still recommended for the morning hours, but expect comfortable and pleasant conditions by the afternoon.

Make it a great day, NJ and don’t forget to take in a bit of sunshine today!
