Summer Preview Arrives in Newark as Warm Conditions Set the Tone for Cinco de Mayo

Newark and the North Jersey region are waking up to mild, comfortable conditions as a summer-like day is on tap. 

As of 4:30 a.m., temperatures sit at 59 degrees in the East Ward, setting the stage for a warm and mostly sunny day ahead.
 

If you’re heading out early, expect a light breeze in the air, but nothing that calls for a jacket. Conditions will stay dry and pleasant as temperatures climb steadily through the morning.

 

According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly sunny with a high near 84 degrees. 

Southwest winds between 9 and 17 mph are expected, with gusts reaching up to 31 mph at times.

 

Tonight, skies will turn partly cloudy with a low around 63 degrees. Breezy conditions will continue, with southwest winds between 13 and 16 mph and gusts as high as 29 mph.
