Students and staff from #TheJewishEducationalCenter building on North Avenue were evaluated after a sulfuric acid spill was reported in the building, according to officials.
Sometime after 4:30 p.m., the #UnionCountyHazmatTeam was called to neutralize the spill that a worker tried to clean with water which according to official made a bigger mess.
Approximately 30 students were evaluated as a precaution. None of the students presented any signs of exposure, according to officials.
They said students and staff were taken to a center down the street.
Incident remains under investigation.
