Authorities are looking into an incident where a student was found with a weapon inside a school in Newark on Wednesday afternoon.
Police were called to the Spencer Miller School at approximately 3:30 p.m. after they received reports of a weapon found according to preliminary reports.
Units arrived and requested a crime scene when they found a female student in possession of a taser reports said. It is not clear what the girl's motive was for carrying the weapon.
The incident is being handled by Newark Public Schools security and The Newark Police department.
There were no injuries reported.
