Police in Newark’s West Ward are on the search for suspects who exchanged gunfire in Newark’s West Ward this evening.
At approximately 5:15 p.m., police responded to reports of shots fired near 75 Munn Avenue.
They found multiple shell casings near 83-85 Munn Avenue when officers arrived.
Police canvassed the area and were notified that a stray bullet had entered a third-floor apartment in the 70's block of Munn.
A woman and her son were inside and narrowly escaped severe injuries.
Police say the suspects fled the scene and are at large.
