l Police in Newark are investigating a shots fired incident with property damage in a section of Newark this afternoon.
Essex County Sheriff’s Officers were first on the scene of shots fired that rang out in the 70’s block of South 12th Street around 4 p.m.
When units arrived, they found evidence of a shooting and, a but that smashed through a window of a house at that location.
No one inside the home was injured and the suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
A woman and another person was found suffering bullet wounds at East Orange Hospital. There vehicle sustained multiple bullet holes.
Payne Tech High School was placed on a shelter in place status.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
