Skies remain mostly cloudy as of 4:30 a.m., and the region is off to a quiet start. According to the National Weather Service, the day will remain humid with a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. The high will reach around 90 degrees, with heat index values making it feel closer to 95. Tonight, expect increasing cloud cover with a 40% chance of showers and storms after 8 p.m. The overnight low will be around 74.
