Staten Island Man Killed in Wayne Crash

Passaic County officials announce that at approximately 8:11 p.m. on Monday, December 27, police responded to the intersection of Valley Road and Ratzer Road in Wayne, where a single vehicle had crashed.

Upon arrival, police determined that a 2006 Dodge Caravan that was being operated by 28-year old Jorge Jaimez Romero of Staten Island, New York, had veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole.

According to police, the initial collision with the utility pole then caused the Dodge Caravan to spin and strike a second utility pole.

Police said that Mr. Jaimez Romero was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:26 p.m. The cause of death is unknown at this time. There were no other vehicles involved.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
