As we step into February 1st and the start of Black History Month, the Newark and North Jersey region is experiencing cloud cover, but my friends and family can expect weather improvements as the weekend approaches.AdThe morning greets us with temperatures in the mid-30s under cloudy skies, but there's hope for some sun breaks, bringing a milder touch to this significant day.

According to The National Weather Service, today's forecast suggests a mostly cloudy day with a high nearing 48 degrees.

A light southwest wind is expected to pick up, reaching 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Tonight, rain becomes likely, particularly between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m.

NWS meteorologists say the night will remain cloudy with a low of around 39 degrees and a southwest wind continuing at 3 to 6 mph.AdThe chance of precipitation stands at 60%.

As you go about your day, enjoy the slightly warmer weather and take a moment to reflect on the importance of Black History Month.

Happy Black History Month, NJ, from all of us here at RLS Media!
