Police took a suspect into custody after a violent stabbing left one person injured on Tuesday evening in Edison.
The incident was reported in the 400 block of Hidden Valley Drive at approximately 6:25 p.m.
Police say officers were called to the scene after receiving reports of an injured person. When they arrived, they found the victim suffering a severe stab injury at that location.
EMS rushed the victim to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center where doctors treated the patient for the injury.
According to preliminary reports, police located the suspect then arrested after a brief foot pursuit.
The motive for the stabbing remains under investigation.
