Authorities in Newark's West Ward are investigating a stabbing that occurred in that section of the city last night.
The incident happened in the 100 block of Sunset Avenue shortly before 10 p.m. where police were called to the scene for reports of an injured person.
Units arrived at the scene to find the victim suffering a serious stab injury.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital where their injuries were not immediately reported as life threatening.
The motive for the stabbing is under investigation by Newark Police.
