Stabbing Inside ShopRite Parking Lot in Ewing Under Investigation

Ewing

Authorities in Mercer County are looking into the motive behind a stabbing that left a person injured in a section of Ewing Township Thursday evening.

According to a statement released by police, at 6:10 p.m.,  Ewing Police Detective Tyler Bender was working an extra-duty assignment at 1750 Olden Avenue and was alerted to a stabbing that occurred on the property.

Officials said Detective Bender immediately assisted the victim with medical attention until Emergency Medical Services arrived.

Police say witnesses reported that the suspect’s vehicle was leaving the lot, so officers broadcasted the vehicle description to responding units.

Police arrested Mr. Juan C. Rosa, 31, of Ewing and charged him with aggravated assault. The condition of the victim is reported as non-fatal, police said.

The motive for the attack is under investigation.
