Stabbing Incident in Newark's North Ward Under Investigation

Police are actively investigating a violent altercation that occurred early Sunday morning in Newark's North Ward, which escalated into a stabbing.NinosAccording to Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé, the incident happened around 3 a.m. today in the 300 block of Lake Street.

Police officials told RLS Media officers responded to a distress call reporting a fight in the area.

Upon arrival, officers discovered three male individuals engaged in a physical dispute, wielding sticks and bats as weapons.

Police said the confrontation resulted in one of the suspects sustaining injuries severe enough to require medical attention.

The injured party was promptly transported to the University Hospital, where he is currently reported to be in stable condition.

In the wake of the incident, police have successfully detained one of the suspects.

The reasons behind the altercation and the events leading up to it remain unclear as the investigation is ongoing.

Newark police have not released any additional information regarding the identities of those involved or the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are appealing to anyone who might have witnessed the incident or has any relevant information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
